From Problem to AIM
Problem (Module 1): Only 1 in 4 youth presenting with suicidal ideation in our ED receive a behavioral health assessment within 60 minutes of arrival.
AIM Statement: "Increase the percentage of youth with suicidal ideation receiving a behavioral health assessment in the ED within 60 minutes of arrival from 25% to 90% by May 2026."
This AIM aligns with your system-level understanding from Module 1 and the Model for Improvement framework from Module 2. It becomes the organizing principle for measurement (Module 4), Key Driver Diagram development (Module 5), and PDSA cycle design (Module 6).
