The EIIC Disaster Domain seeks to support EMSC grantees and stakeholders to better prepare for disasters in a way that takes the specific needs of children into consideration. We offer a variety of resources and tools to facilitate disaster preparedness activities by healthcare providers, public health departments, schools, and family/caregivers.

EIIC Disaster Preparedness Improvement Efforts
Hospitals, clinics, and community partners have an opportunity to participate in quality improvement activities to improve pediatric disaster preparedness plans and receive MOC 4 credit for these efforts.
Supporting Communities Impacted by Mass Violence Events: Resources for Healthcare Personnel
Mass violence events, especially those related to gun violence, are happening frequently. Hospital and clinic personnel, EMS providers, and others along the health care continuum are in a position to provide support to families and communities impacted by these tragic events.

ASPR Pediatric Disaster Care Centers of Excellence
In September 2019, the U.S. HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response (ASPR) awarded two cooperative agreements to pilot the creation of Pediatric Disaster Care Centers of Excellence(COE) to improve disaster response capabilities for children in the United States. The EIIC is working collaboratively with both organizations to disseminate their best practices.
