Module 1
Putting QI Into Practice
Improving pediatric mental health access isn’t just about adding more resources; it’s about making the best use of what we already have. QI gives you a structured, evidence-based approach to:
- Identify and define system-level challenges without assigning blame
- Select a focused, feasible project aligned with your setting and goals
- Use proven QI tools to understand what is driving the issue
- Apply and test changes that improve outcomes for children and families
- Build a culture of continuous improvement that sustains itself over time
🚀 Action Step
Before moving to Module 2, take 10 minutes to identify one opportunity for improvement in your setting. Write it down in system-level language (not blame language). Share it with a colleague and ask: Does this resonate with what you see?
Coming Up Next
In Module 2, you’ll learn about the Model for Improvement and related frameworks that help teams move from ideas to action. Together, we will take the next step in improving pediatric mental health care access — one small test of change at a time.
