Meet HRSA’s new Pathways Student
Rachel Blaney is beginning her second year as a graduate student at the University of Maryland, where she is working toward a master in public health degree with a concentration in epidemiology. She obtained her BS degree in biological sciences with a minor in Spanish from East Tennessee State University. During the academic year, she works on campus as a graduate assistant for an undergraduate honors program, and previously has held various positions in a hospital setting.
She looks forward to working with the EMSC team and learning more about the important work they do!"

Meet Hawaii’s New State Partnership Program Manager
Karin Ng joins the EMSC Program as the Program Manager for the Hawaii State Partnership. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. New to the health field, she is looking forward to making positive change in the community and improving pediatric care in the state. Prior to this position, she worked as a business analyst for seven years, where she helped clients improve their processes and increase productivity and efficiency. She plans to channel this expertise to manage Hawaii’s EMSC Program in reducing mortality and morbidity.
Originally from California, Karin was drawn to Hawaii by the surfing and beaches. In addition to surfing, she also enjoys hiking and dog sitting
