Thank you, EMS clinicians!

On EMS for Children (EMSC) Day, part of National EMS Week, EMSC Program grantees and national partners came together to spotlight the vital role of prehospital clinicians in caring for acutely ill and injured children. This year’s EMS Week theme, “We care. For everyone”, underscored the compassionate mission of EMS professionals. To mark the day, EMSC hosted a webinar, “Pediatric Prehospital Seizures: Evidence-Based Practice and Future Directions,” with free CE available for live attendees in partnership with Prodigy EMS. The session was attended by nearly 700 participants. Across the country, EMSC State Partnership Programs also celebrated with community events, ranging from awards and capitol recognitions to open houses and educational activities.

DC recognized EMS week and EMSC Day by celebrating the Fire and EMS pediatric award.

Guam celebrated the week of honoring and recognizing EMS and fire rescue agencies through celebrations and outdoor events.

Florida EMSC provided educational resources to several conferences. In addition, Florida EMSC and the Florida Prehospital Pediatric Readiness Recognition Program were highlighted in EMS World news, featuring the first agency in the state to be recognized. See the story here.

Georgia celebrated EMSC Day with a cookout!

In concert with EMSC programs from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, the HECC region hosted a virtual pediatric symposium in honor of EMSC Day. “Beyond the Basics: Next-Level Pediatric Assessments” addressed common and uncommon presentations by child patients, determining sick/not sick in the pediatric community, and how to up your game beyond cookbook medicine to truly assessing the whole child through both patient presentation and circumstances.

Missouri spent this year's EMSC Day celebrating children’s hospitals throughout the state highlighting the care and resources these systems provided, and educating the community about EMSC.

In Montana, EMSC Day recognized the great work of EMS clinicians & services. This year, the Montana State Office of EMS and EMSC awarded the EMS for Children Supporter at the State Capitol.

Palau celebrated all of their EMSC professionals.
