As part of EMSC Day, which occurs annually on the Wednesday of National EMS Week, the EMSC Innovation and Improvement Center has announced a webinar, "The Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC): Where Emergency Care for Kids Begins," May 24 from 5-6:30 pm CT.

This 60-minute webinar – which will offer CAPCE credits for those who attend live – will highlight the role of pediatric emergency care coordinators (PECCs), also known as pediatric champions, in EMS agencies (including fire departments that respond to medical 911 calls).

Registration is free and open to all. For those who attend the session live on May 24, 1.5 Live CAPCE credits will be available through Prodigy EMS. Register today!

A special thank-you to EMS clinicians

In addition to the webinar, the EMSC Program is also saying "thank you" to EMS clinicians through a special video. The video will be available online and screened as part of the webinar presentation.

Keep an eye out for details still to come!

More ways to get involved

Looking for more ways to spread the word about EMSC Day? Here are some ideas:

  1. Request an EMSC Day proclamation from your state or town. This is a great way to raise awareness about the importance of high-quality emergency care for children in your community. Proclamations must be requested weeks or even months in advance, depending on your state/town rules, so get started now!
  2. Access new EMSC Day-branded materials. Materials include activity sheets for children, thank you cards, appreciation certifications, and social media posts on our website. We encourage you to use and share these materials widely! When you post on social media, we encourage you to use #EMSforChildrenDay so we can amplify your messages.
  3. Explore pediatric-focused ideas for other theme days during EMS Week. Find inspiration for ways to bring a pediatric perspective to theme days like "Education Day" and "Safety Day."
