Everyday Pediatric Readiness for Extraordinary Events

  • This webcast highlighted best practices and lessons learned from the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) where the threat of a tsunami or typhoon is an everyday reality and where routine and extraordinary often intersect. The CNMI EMSC program discussed successes and challenges in pediatric disaster preparedness and response, including: the EMS systems and resources; interagency collaboration; and community planning, practice, response, and recovery. AAP Disaster Preparedness Advisory Council

  • The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is an organization of more than 67,000 pediatricians committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. The AAP Board of Directors appointed the AAP Disaster Preparedness Advisory Council (DPAC) in 2007.
