Meet the EIIC's Newest Team Members

Amie Barda, PhD
Amie is a Data Scientist at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. She completed a PhD in Biomedical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh and has substantial experience applying data mining and machine learning approaches to electronic medical record data. Amie specializes in clinical informatics, specifically in designing user-centered and data-driven solutions for clinical practice.

John Bohls, MHA
John serves as the Project Specialist for the Telehealth Collaborative under the umbrella of the EIIC, University of Texas at Austin. His focus is on the Telehealth Collaborative and related performance improvement measures. John holds a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and recently graduated with a Master’s Degree of Healthcare Administration from Texas State University. He received his B.B.A. from Texas Tech University and will try to get used to the burnt orange of UT Austin, although he is a native Austinite.

Kurt Koch
Kurt is a Project Manager, Pediatric Clinical Integration, at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds a M.Sc. in Project Management from Boston University as well as an MBA with an emphasis in Healthcare Informatics from Anna Maria College. Kurt has been involved in healthcare operations and project management for over twenty years, contributing to organizational quality improvement and regulatory compliance activities. He has spent the last decade managing projects specific to healthcare data management and informatics, including legacy RCM and EMR data migration, analysis, and archival initiatives as well as hospital quality payment programs.

Michelle Moegling RN, BSN, CPN
Michelle is the Coordinator of UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital Community Emergency Services. She is a certified pediatric nurse with over 28 years of pediatric acute care experience focused on pediatric emergency medicine. For the past 9 years her focus has been on pediatric readiness for community Emergency Departments and Urgent Cares, where she integrates her leadership and quality improvement skills to assure safe quality of care for pediatric patients across the University Hospitals Health System.
