Overview
The goals of this project are to (1) develop and implement a School Health Emergency Program (SHEAP) that focuses on educating school staff most likely to initially assess the ill or injured child, in the absence of a school nurse; and (2) improve access to appropriate medical care for children who become ill or are injured while in school; (3) provide education on the initial assessment of children with head injuries, sprains, fractures, headache, abdominal pain, and other common complaints, as well as materials on some common chronic conditions, including asthma, allergies, seizure disorders and diabetes mellitus.
