Injury Prevention Resources for Medical Care Providers

Oct. 1, 1999 - Sept. 30, 2001

Project Overview
Injury is the leading cause of mortality in children over the age of one year. The goals of this project are to (1) produce a CD ROM training program that will provide healthcare professionals with the necessary information, resources, and tools in order to better grasp the magnitude of the injury problem, better understand the concepts of injury prevention/control, and learn how to integrate injury prevention strategies into their daily practice; (2) measure the impact of the training program through changes in self-reported practice patterns; and (3) widely promote and distribute the CD ROMs after controlled evaluation.
