- Project Overview
- The purpose of the Florida EMSC State Partnership Program is to expand and improve emergency medical services for children who need treatment for trauma or critical care. Specific objectives focus on increasing the percentage of Florida EDs and EMS agencies having a pediatric emergency care coordinator/champion), solidifying a mechanism to recognize PEDReady EMS agencies and EDs, expanding the program to meet the need of families with critically ill, injured or special health care needs children, working with EMS agencies and EDs to have a process for validating skills on the use of pediatric equipment and safe medication dosing using weight in kilograms, and expanding current pediatric disaster planning in EMS and ED settings in collaboration with families and other state initiatives.
