- Project Overview
- The purpose to ultimately reduce pediatric morbidity and mortality from injury and illness in Utah. The project will focus on developing and sustaining EMSC initiatives by integrating HRSA performance measures into the EMS system. The main activities of the project will be education, public policy change, assessment, performance improvement, coalition building, injury prevention, workforce development, and disaster preparedness. The Utah EMSC Project will be aligned with the federal performance measures by educating and building the EMS and hospital workforce; integrating pediatric considerations into the EMS, disaster and trauma systems; recognizing the continuum of care; and seeking opportunities to ensure program sustainability.
