Project Overview
Goal: Assess and improve the operational capacity of South Dakota to provide pediatric emergency care to all seriously ill and injured children to reduce pediatric morbidity and mortality. Objective I: Achieve the EMSC SP Program objectives, monitor and measure the impact at state/jurisdiction levels, and execute the established targets for the Program’s performance measures. Objective II: Collaborate with key EMS stakeholders to establish the required six activity competencies by; collecting and reporting data, participating in a QI collaborative, promote pre-hospital and hospital system education, standardizing equipment and protocols, engage with state healthcare coalitions, develop recognition systems, increase pediatric preparedness/readiness and identity gaps, promote EMS the need for a PECC, skills, data collection with NEMSIS and ensure the EMSC Advisory Committee meets recommended activities.
