Montana — SPROC
Child Ready Montana
June 1, 2012 - May 31, 2021
- Project Overview
- 2012-2016: The SPROC grant implemented the Montana Inclusive Model of Pediatric Emergent Care, with plans to: (1) develop a replicable, regionalized system of healthcare to optimize the sharing of resources; (2) facilitate the management and treatment of acutely ill and severely injured children through the use of telemedicine; (3) implement a plan and transfer processes to provide pediatric specialty services for children requiring access to a higher level of service; and (4) improve access to and retrieval of clinical data to support quality improvement initiatives which support safe, timely, efficient, effective, equitable, and patient-centered care.
2016-2021: Building upon the state’s 2012-16 work, the Montana Inclusive Model for Pediatric Emergent Care (MIMPEC) Program, the program worked to develop an accountable, culturally competent, and accessible system of care for pediatric patients across the state that focused on providing the right care at the right time in the right place. The 2016 Child Ready Montana Project will continue the development of systems of care to increase access, pediatric readiness, and strength-based approaches for all children. This is planned through the achievement of the following goals: (1) Expand the state facility recognition program to ensure the pediatric readiness of Montana’s hospitals while ensuring inclusion of children in tribal, territorial, rural, and insular communities; (2) Continue the development of coordinated systems of care to reduce and prevent pediatric morbidity and mortality by increasing timely access to pediatric specialists through established networks and pediatric-specific educational opportunities; (3) Improve the transfer process of pediatric patients to higher levels of care; (4) Establish baseline data reporting processes for healthcare facilities included in the regionalized network; and (5) Improve clinical quality performance metrics for pediatric emergency services in service area/network hospitals. - Institution
