Tabitha Cheng, MD
Prehospital-Based Care Domain Fellow
Dr. Tabitha Cheng is a Southern California native. She attended UCLA for undergraduate studies, graduating with a BS in chemical engineering. During that time, she worked as an EMT in Inglewood and at UCLA from 2004 to 2011. She graduated medical school from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, as part of the joint PRIME-Charles Drew University medical education program. During this time, she spent one year as a research fellow at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, studying the epidemiology of pediatric traumatic brain injury. She completed her residency training in Emergency Medicine at UCLA, graduating as chief resident in 2018. Then she completed an EMS fellowship in 2019 at UCSD, during which time she participated on California's EMSC technical advisory committee. She is board certified in Emergency Medicine and the subspecialty of Emergency Medical Services. Dr. Cheng is pursuing her second fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA.
