EIIC MOC 4 Project: Improving Pediatric Disaster Preparedness in Hospitals and Clinics

Community-based clinic teams and hospital-based teams are invited to participate in this quality improvement initiative to earn 25 points towards the ABP MOC 4 requirements. The hospital-based teams will run from October 1, 2022 through April 30, 2023. Clinic-based teams will run from January 1, 2023 - June 30, 2023. Recruitment begins November 16, 2022. The objectives for the MOC 4 project include:

  • Provide mentorship and change strategies that will increase participating community practices’ preparedness for future disasters.
  • Increase the pediatric disaster readiness score by 2 points per domain or to the desired total score of 30 points for preparedness within 6 months.

The project will run for hospital-based teams from October 1, 2022 – April 30, 2023. Community-based clinic teams will run from January 1, 2023 - June 30, 2023. Participants can earn 25 points towards the ABP MOC 4 requirements. Throughout the project, participants will submit monthly environmental scans, receive monthly progress reports for the team, and receive quarterly reports to compare team’s progress with the entire cohort.
