The Pediatric Readiness Quality Improvement (QI) Collaborative (PRQC) continued the work started in 2018 with a 2023 cohort. This PRQC cohort kicked off in June 2023 and ran until December 2024, with emergency department (ED) based teams working to accelerate their pediatric readiness. Registrants included over 350 ED professionals, of which 141 of them were working as Pediatric Emergency Care Champions (PECCs) for their site, across 200 EDs and 41 states and territories. With the shared goal of establishing a QI plan and implementing at least one process change for one of the four clinical areas of focus.

Discover the impactful narratives of past participants:

Tailored Interventions and Resources: Flexible intervention bundles, tools for gap identification (e.g., environmental scans), and a wealth of valuable insights.

Peer Learning and Networking: Opportunities to share experiences, exchange insights, and collaborate with other sites, fostering a sense of community and mutual support.

Expanded QI Knowledge: Access to robust resources and methodologies that enhance understanding and implementation of QI principles

Although the collaborative has concluded, its resources can help guide future endeavors in QI within one of the four clinical areas of focus: pain assessment, abnormal vital sign reassessment, suicide, and the weighing and recording of pediatric weights in kilograms only.
