What to Expect
Your team’s journey toward stronger Pediatric Readiness starts here. The 2026 NPRQI Collaborative guides you step-by-step through learning, testing, and improving care practices that make a measurable difference for children and families.
The Collaborative Experience
Joining the NPRQI Collaborative means becoming part of a national community of ED teams committed to improving care for children through quality improvement.
Over the course of the collaborative, your team will:
- Attend monthly learning sessions led by pediatric experts
- Participate in fireside chats and small-group discussions for shared learning
- Apply intervention bundles and QI tools to test changes
- Track progress using real-time NPRQI data dashboards
The 2026 Collaborative launches in January 2026 and helps participating EDs prepare for the 2026 National Pediatric Readiness Project (NPRP) Assessment through hands-on learning, expert coaching, and practical implementation support.
By participating, your team will gain:
- Tailored Resources to identify gaps and guide interventions
- Expert Coaching to build QI confidence and skills
- Peer Learning that fosters collaboration and shared problem-solving
- Data Insights to measure impact and celebrate progress
- Earn CNE/MOC Part 4 credits as you advance pediatric QI.
You’ll walk away with stronger teamwork, practical improvement skills, and sustainable strategies to advance Pediatric Readiness in your ED.
Hospital-based EDs of all sizes are encouraged to join. Teams typically include:
- ED Physicians and Nurses
- Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinators (PECCs)
- Administrative or Operations Staff
- Child Life Specialists
- Quality Improvement or Health Informatics Staff
- EMSC State Partnership managers (as state-level collaborators)
The collaborative is designed to be flexible and realistic. Most teams dedicate about 4–8 hours per month to collaborative activities, including:
- 1.5-hour monthly collaborative sessions (recorded for those unable to attend live)
- About 2.5 - 6.5 hours per month for team meetings, testing strategies, and reviewing data
Even small, consistent improvements can lead to meaningful change in patient outcomes and team workflow.
