QUALITY IMPROVEMENT COLLABORATIVES
To provide support for projects requiring rapid change and a firm knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques, the EIIC has adopted elements from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Collaborative Model for Achieving Breakthrough Improvement (SOURCE: http://www.ihi.org/resources/pages/ihiwhitepapers/thebreakthroughseriesihiscollaborativemodelforachievingbreakthroughimprovement.aspx)
The EIIC will provide synchronous and asynchronous QI education, tailored to the needs of each project identified and to meet the needs of the leaners. The methods and content will include critical tenets of QI and be provided in a tiered learner model. Techniques will include collaborative QI project work, multi-media learning systems, written materials, online modules, and grantee sessions.
The first of these QI Collaboratives was the Facility Recognition Collaborative (FRC). This project has completed.
The second QI Collaborative is on Pediatric Readiness Quality (PRQC). This project is ongoing.
Our most recent QI Collaborative is on Prehospital Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC), funded through a supplemental grant from HRSA EMSC Program.
