Overview
The overall goal of this project is to develop an effective IPV screening protocol for the pediatric emergency department. This goal will be achieved by meeting six objectives: 1) Identify the barriers and opportunities for IPV screening and referral in a pediatric emergency department (PED) setting. 2) Design and pilot an IPV screening protocol in the PED. 3) Develop and pilot and IPV educational model for pediatric emergency health care providers. 4) Implement the IPV screening program (education and protocol) in the PED. 5) Evaluate the effectiveness of the IPV screening protocol on distinct outcomes such as shelter placements. 6) Disseminate the model for IPV screening model internally and externally.
