As of last Friday, the response rate amongst EMS agencies for the EMS for Children Survey is more than 42 percent. The survey, which is sent to 14,672 EMS agencies, closes March 31.

“We are incredibly grateful to EMSC State Partnership program managers for their efforts to engage EMS agencies in the survey,” says Andrea Genovesi, MA, EMSC Data Center Operations Manager.

The goal of the survey is to improve understanding of EMS agencies’ capability to care for children by collecting data on two critical ways to ensure pediatric readiness:

  1. appointing a pediatric emergency care coordinator (PECC), or pediatric champion, and
  2. providing regular opportunities for skill-checking on pediatric equipment.

EMS agencies can participate in the survey here.
