The publication identified elements associated with the largest impact on scores:
- The presence of a Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC)/pediatric champion
- Agency characteristics – e.g. high volume, ILS/ALS, hospital-based, paid
Given agency characteristics are not changeable, PECCs are crucially important. Future research will look into the impact of additional elements of readiness.
