Improve: Plan and Implement Changes to Advance Pediatric Readiness

NPRP_Toolkit_-_Assess

This section supports ED teams in moving from understanding their gaps to addressing them. It is the largest section of the toolkit and provides guidance, tools, and resources.

Why It Matters: Measurement is just the first step. To become Pediatric Ready, you must work to address gaps and continually improve. It’s not a one-time fix, but an ongoing process.

Key Focus Areas: This section is organized by Pediatric Readiness domains: Administration and Coordination; Competencies; Quality/Performance Improvement; Patient and Medication Safety; Policies, Procedures, and Protocols; Equipment, Supplies, and Medications; and Support Services.

Who to Engage: Pediatric emergency care coordinators (PECCs), ED leadership, quality teams, and external partners.

Getting Started: Review your assessment results, identify priority gaps, and select corresponding tools and resources to target those gaps.
