The purpose of this evidence-based guideline is to standardize care for children undergoing procedural sedation receiving minimal, moderate, or deep sedation for acute diagnostic, therapeutic or minor surgical procedures outside the OR at Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH).
This report was developed through a collaborative effort of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry to offer pediatric providers updated information and guidance in delivering safe sedation to children.
