    The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines and direction for members of the medical staff with the responsibility of requesting x-ray, computed tomography, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging to pediatric patients in an emergency medical setting.

    National Pediatric Readiness Project

    The National Pediatric Readiness Project is an initiative of the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program with support from multidisciplinary organizations. The project empowers emergency departments nationwide to improve their “pediatric readiness” or capability to care for acutely ill and injured children.

    The EMSC Innovation and Improvement Center website is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of an award (U07MC37471) totaling $2.5M with 0 percent financed with nongovernmental sources.
