Toolkit

The National Pediatric Readiness Project (NPRP) Toolkit is a comprehensive, evidence-based resource designed to help emergency departments (EDs) strengthen and sustain their ability to care for children. Grounded in a joint policy statement by the leading organizations in pediatric emergency care, “Pediatric Readiness in the Emergency Department,” the toolkit provides practical guidance and resources to help EDs improve Pediatric Readiness.

Maintained by the EMSC Innovation and Improvement Center, the toolkit serves nurse and physician pediatric emergency care coordinators (PECCs), ED clinicians and staff, as well as hospital leadership and other partners advancing pediatric emergency care. This toolkit is organized into sections that align with the suggested steps in the Pediatric Readiness roadmap, guiding EDs from assessment to planning through implementation and sustainability.
