New Hampshire EMS for Children

NH EMSC has been serving New Hampshire since 1992 with its administration housed at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC). NH EMSC works alongside New Hampshire emergency departments, prehospital EMS agencies, and other stakeholder organizations to achieve pediatric readiness.

The mission of the New Hampshire Emergency Medical Services for Children State Partnership Program (NH EMSC) is to reduce pediatric morbidity and mortality in the emergency healthcare environment across New Hampshire. This is accomplished through education, system development, and research.

NH EMSC is funded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The Federal EMSC Program is designed to ensure that all children and youth, no matter where they live, attend school, or travel, receive appropriate care in a health emergency. As this is a federally funded program, NH EMSC works under a federally defined set of performance measures that strike a balance between prehospital, hospital, and family centered care metrics.

NH EMSC works alongside the New England EMS for Children collaborative and Always Ready for Children for regional improvements and the NASEMSO Pediatric Emergency Care Council for national improvements.
