An Evidence-Based Approach to Improvement.
The work of the Prehospital Pediatric Readiness Project, including its Checklist, Toolkit, and Assessment, is guided by two key publications:
Pediatric Readiness in Emergency Medical Services Systems: Policy Statement
This joint policy statement outlines key recommendations on pediatric readiness in emergency medical services systems.
The policy statement was written by:
- American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
- American College of Emergency Physicians
- Emergency Nurses Association
- National Association of Emergency Medical Services Physicians
- National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians
Pediatric Readiness in Emergency Medical Services Systems: Technical Report
This technical report serves as a companion document to the Policy Statement and provides additional details to help EMS and fire-rescue agencies establish a foundation on which to build optimal pediatric care. It can also serve as a resource for clinical and administrative leaders.
The report was written by the AAP.
