PECC - Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator
In 2006, Institute of Medicine (now the National Academy of Medicine) recommended that hospitals and EMS systems have a PECC. This was based on a large evidence base demonstrating the EDs with these individuals tend to be better prepared for pediatric patients as measured by compliance with national guidelines.
