Project Overview
The goals of the program include:
• EMS agencies submitting NEMSIS compliant data to the State EMS Office;
• Increasing the number of EMS agencies that have a designated individual who coordinates pediatric emergency care;
• Increasing the number of EMS agencies that have a process that requires EMS providers to physically demonstrate the correct use of pediatric-specific equipment;
• Increase the number of hospitals with an Always Ready for Kids program than can stabilize and/or manage pediatric medical emergencies and pediatric trauma;
• Increase the number of hospitals with an Emergency Department that have written interfacility guidelines that cover pediatric patients and that include the seven pre-defined components of transfer;
• Continue to emphasize the established permanence of the EMSC program in the state EMS system and encourage continued emphasis on growing the EMSC program.
