Project Overview

The purpose of the EMSC State Partnership Program is to expand and improve emergency medical services for children who need treatment for trauma or critical care. EMSC staff continue to work toward statewide integration of children’s issues into the EMS system through 1) uniform data collection for evaluating systems and developing quality improvement programs; 2) the systematic identification of prehospital pediatric emergency care coordination and skills retention in regard to pediatric care; 3) the implementation of a facility recognition system for hospitals able to manage pediatric medical emergencies; 3) the adoption of pediatric-specific interfacility transfer guidelines/agreements for licensed acute care hospitals; and 4) the integration of EMSC priorities into existing statutes and regulations.

Note: The FL EMSC State Partnership Grant moved to the University of Florida April 1, 2023.
