AAP Disaster Preparedness Advisory Council

  • The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is an organization of more than 67,000 pediatricians committed to the attainment of optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being for all infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. The AAP Board of Directors appointed the AAP Disaster Preparedness Advisory Council (DPAC) in 2007.

EMSC Grants Database

Everyday Pediatric Readiness for Extraordinary Events

  • This webcast highlighted best practices and lessons learned from the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) where the threat of a tsunami or typhoon is an everyday reality and where routine and extraordinary often intersect. The CNMI EMSC program discussed successes and challenges in pediatric disaster preparedness and response, including: the EMS systems and resources; interagency collaboration; and community planning, practice, response, and recovery.
