Oliver got his start in Emergency Medical Services at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he was one of the original founding members of UIC EMS, which was the only collegiate student-run EMS agency with a transporting BLS ambulance in the midwest. Since then, he has taught at various EMT programs and received his undergraduate degree in Emergency Medical Services with a concentration on administration from Eastern Kentucky University. Currently, he serves as the Paramedic Program Director and Critical Care Education Coordinator at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. When he is not at the Medical Center, Oliver also works as a Critical Care Flight Paramedic in the fixed-wing environment for AeroCare Air Ambulance.

When Oliver is not at work, he enjoys a strong cup of coffee and a good episode of Chopped or Beat Bobby Flay.
